Corporate financial transactions largely remain faceless and unlinked to social impact, but GoodFX and The Conduit are rewriting the narrative. As The Conduit expands globally, setting up new clubs in Oslo and beyond, their growing need for foreign currency conversion has offered a unique opportunity to team up with GoodFX, and combine business efficiency with tangible social change.

How GoodFX used a spot FX solution to help The Conduit and Displaced

The Conduit is a private members club focused on creating a purpose-driven community. It is arguably London’s home of impact, acting as the meeting place for thousands of people focused on this vital space.

In 2024, The Conduit expanded out of its London home and set up its first overseas workspace in Oslo, Norway. The Conduit selected GoodFX to find a more efficient and cost-effective way to meet its foreign exchange needs. Having secured a more favourable rate on their NOK purchases, GoodFX’s impact model also means that a portion of every transaction profit is directed to Displaced.

The Conduit’s first few months of trading, represents the beginning of a ripple effect, supporting Displaced’s mission to address the mental health challenges and social integration of migrant youth and families in the UK.

Displaced: Building resilience, confidence, and community for migrant youth

Displaced operates with a powerful mission: to bridge health and social inequality for migrant communities through trauma-informed, community-focused programs. Founded by Zey Binboga, whose personal journey is intertwined with the realities faced by young migrants, Displaced provides culturally informed mental health support and educational workshops for both youth and parents. By addressing trauma and building socio-emotional skills, Displaced equips young people with resilience, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence.

Zey comments:

“Fundraising is challenging at the moment. As the majority of our funding is project based, we also often struggle to identify regular sources for our core costs. This donation is super helpful as we seek to enrich our young people’s lives through leadership development.”

Zey continues:

“In 2025, we’ll also be developing innovative ways of tackling health inequality through reducing mental health stigma among migrant families. It’s great to have The Conduit supporting this work through GoodFX.”

In the past year alone, Displaced delivered impactful programs such as the “Making Enfield Happier” initiative, a youth-led project that engaged young people from migrant backgrounds to co-create mental health interventions and challenge stigmas in their communities.

Through The Conduit’s FX trades delivered through GoodFX, Displaced can expand these initiatives, impacting the lives of even more young migrants and their families across London.

Impacting lives beyond currency conversion

GoodFX’s collaboration with The Conduit exemplifies how everyday business activities can be harnessed for social good. This approach isn’t just about foreign exchange; it’s about building bridges between communities and businesses, creating opportunities for those who need it most.

"At The Conduit, we believe that the positive impact we strive for should be woven into every part of our business. Working with partners like GoodFX allows us to extend this impact beyond our core initiatives, ensuring that our financial operations contribute to meaningful change. Their support - such as the recent donation to Displaced on our behalf - reinforces our commitment to making every aspect of our business a force for good."

Alison Bolt, Finance Director at The Conduit

By choosing GoodFX, The Conduit has not only optimised its FX transactions but has also invested in a mission to address the pressing mental health and integration challenges faced by migrant youth in the UK.

Together, GoodFX, The Conduit, and Displaced demonstrate the power of partnerships in creating sustainable change, proving that with each FX trade, a brighter, more inclusive future can be built.
